WASHINGTON (December 15, 2020) – The American Chemistry Council (ACC) issued the following statement welcoming the news that a bipartisan, bicameral agreement has been reached to consider energy innovation legislation as part of the FY 2021 spending bill.

“We commend Congressional leaders for forging a bipartisan agreement on energy innovation legislation, including industrial energy efficiency and clean technology measures. A possible deal to phase down hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) would be a major step forward in fighting climate change. We urge lawmakers to reconsider their decision to exclude model energy building codes, as they aid the adoption of efficiency technologies at the state level. We look forward to further leadership and progress on this important national priority in the days ahead.”
