According to a recent report, circularity presents a potential $4.5 trillion business opportunity by 2030 – and roughly $400-$600 billion could go to automotive companies and their suppliers, helping fuel more innovations to make our cars even more sustainable. ACC is partnering with the Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge National Lab through a multi-year memorandum of understanding (MOU) to advance automotive plastics circularity in conjunction with automotive value chain, dismantlers, and recyclers.

Circularity reflects the concept of using plastics (or any resource) more efficiently by keeping them in use for as long as possible and then reusing them to make new products. This not only reduces waste – it also reduces the need to extract virgin raw materials. That’s why we’re working with automakers to enable new ways to create modern, fuel-efficient cars while generating less waste through a circular economy.
